Major Hurricane Epsilon and Tropical Storm Saudel Update

Hurricane Epsilon rapidly intensified in the last 24 hours, and is now a Category 3 hurricane as it approaches Bermuda. Thankfully, the strongest winds are expected to remain well offshore, but tropical storm conditions will probably be felt on some or all of the island. In the Western Pacific, Tropical Storm Saudel is intensifying over the South China Sea, and is likely to strike Hainan island in a couple of days as a typhoon. The storm is then expected to arrive in Vietnam this weekend. Three other areas of interest could develop in the Western Pacific - one behind Saudel, another moving through the Micronesian islands, and a third system which may develop near the Ryukyu islands. In the Indian Ocean, an area of interest could become a tropical cyclone in the Bay of Bengal, before striking eastern India or Bangladesh.
