Live coverage: Hurricane Sally from WWL-TV in New Orleans
Hurricane Sally is in the Gulf of Mexico. Get the latest on her projected path, the computer models and satellite radar as it approaches the southeast Louisiana and southwest Mississippi coast.
Sally became a hurricane shortly after 11 am. with winds of 85 miles per hour. Sally could intensify before landfall, though the projected track is east of New Orleans.
However, New Orleans could receive heavy rain as the storm slows markedly.
